"Walk to School" Event...Cool!
Our first annual "Walk to School" event was an amazing success and we had over 200 participants! This event developed in partnership with the "Safe Routes to Schools (SRTS)" group and was an effort to increase good habits around walking and biking to school.
The "Senior Tea" Was Smashing!
Our students enjoyed hosting friends, relatives, and neighbors during our "Senior Tea" event on April 19th.
4th Graders Knit Hats for Local Hospitals
Ms. Culbertson has brought her love of knitting to our 4th grade students and found a way to make it serve our community. 4th graders have been opting to spend their recess time learning to knit hats for newborns so they can donate them to local hospitals. What a great way to help the "wee ones" and learn a great skill. Way to go 4th grade!
MLS Spirit Week!
We have had a wonderful time this week showing our school spirit and being creative. There are so many pictures and wonderful stories from our students. My favorite so far is "Hero Day" where many students dressed like their personal heroes.
"No More Bullies" Rap from Mrs. Bennett's Class
Mrs. Bennett's kindergarten class got very excited about Project Peace and decided to write a rap to encourage kids to be kind. Check out the inspiring work of our youngest students and how they decided to stand up for themselves and others. This is COOL!
MLS Math & Science Night (3/15/13)
Mark your calendars for our annual Math & Science Night! This fun family event will help students better understand Math and Science concepts through hands on activities and exploration. Come join the fun and help spark your child's imagination. Math and Science Night is scheduled for Friday, March 15th from 6:30 to 8:30pm. Hope to see you!
MLS Boys Night Out (3/8/13)
All 5th and 6th grade boys are invited to a special fun-filled night that will focus on health, decision-making, and community building.
MLS Girls Night Out (3/1/13)
All 5th and 6th grade girls are invited to a special fun-filled night that will focus on health, wellness, and community building. This unique event was created just for our older female students and will help to address topical issues that our students are facing.
