Water Gala– Many thanks go out to the Yellow Springs community for their acts of kindness during our recent Water Immersion unit.  See you at the Water Gala on January 30 from 7:00-9:00 (p.m.) at the new McGregor building.

One Acts- One of the highlights of the drama season are the “One Acts” which are student directed and produced plays.  This year the “One Acts” will take place at the Antioch Theatre building on February 1, 2, and 3.  Contact YSHS should you have further questions regarding price and times.

Evening Conferences- The evening of February 4(5-8 p.m.), parents/guardians will have the opportunity to meet with teachers as part of our Winter Conferences.  Please contact the front office (767-7224) to schedule a time (conferences are by appointment only).

Chili Cook Off- Make plans to attend the annual McKinney School Chili Cook Off on Saturday March 15 in the YSHS Cafeteria.  See details on page 4.

Swing- In cooperation with City Folk and Antioch College, YSHS/McKinney music students will work with Jane Bunnett and the Spirits of Havana as part of a music in residence experience.

School Delay/Closings- Please check the local media or our school website regarding possible school delays or closings.

Lost and Found- As was shared in previous newsletters we have a large amount of lost items in our “Lost and Found” box.  Coats, hats, gloves, shirts, shoes, books, and a variety of other items will be donated to a local charity in the next few weeks.  Many of the items in our “Lost and Found” box go back to the first quarter.

Absences- With the start of the 2nd semester we will continue to stress the importance of attendance to school.  Students who exceed nine absences during a semester will lose credit unless there are extenuating circumstances.  Family vacations count towards the nine absences.
