Buddy Bench To Help Students Make Friends
Mrs. Clark's students in grades K-2nd decided to help make sure that every student has someone to play at recess. They designed and built a "Buddy Bench" using wood from fallen Ash trees and tools in our new maker space. The idea is to have a safe place for students to go when they want to find a friend or need someone to play with. The bench has conversation starters written on it that will help students ask each other to play or get support from a classmate when needed. This is a wonderful example of how project-based learning can help address important issues at school and beyond. Please check out the instructional video also created by Mrs. Clark's students to inform people on how to use the Buddy Bench. Make sure to use the bench when you need a friend!
