The
Quality Education Standards for our schools were developed by a broad-ranging
committee comprised of parents, community members, students, teachers, a member
of the Board of Education, and school administrators. The committee met from
January through June 2004 and developed standards that would reflect the values
of the Yellow Springs community and that were not measured by the current State
of Ohio standards upon which most schools are assessed. The standards were
approved by the Board of Education and during the 2004-2005 school year meetings
were held to determine instruments that could be used to assess the standards.
