Salute to African American Musicians
K-2 students present concert
 

K-2 students presented a concert to the Mills Lawn student body saluting in song African American musicians Louis Armstrong, Sammy Davis, Jr., Duke Ellington, Stevie Wonder, Charlie Parker, and Ella Fitzgerald. Featured songs included ”What a Wonderful World”, “Candy Man”, “Mood Indigo”, “Sir Duke”, “A-Tisket, A-Tasket”, the poem “Charlie Parker plays Be-Bop”, and “It Don't Mean a Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing).” The concert was under the direction of music teacher JoFrannye Reichert, with musical accompaniment by teachers Becky Brunsman and Yvonne Wingard. Media Specialist Dionne Barclay prepared visuals for the concert.
