Bing Davis

Bing Davis was born in Greer, South Carolina, but grew up in Dayton, Ohio, where he lives today.  He is a graduate of DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana.  Mr. Davis attended the School of the Dayton Art Institute and received his M.Ed in  from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. 

 

His career as an educator includes 20 year at Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio, where he also served as the Director of the Paul Robeson Cultural and Performing Arts Center and as an artist-in residence at the School of Education, University of Dayton .  Mr. Davis is currently President of the Board of Directors of the National Conference of Artists and a visiting scholar at Wright State University in Dayton.  In 2000, he received an Honorary Doctorate of Human Letters from Adrian College (Adrian, MI).

 

Mr. Davis's residency at Mills Lawn is with sixth graders and students in the 5/6 class.
