Dole Packaging Plant Field Trip
Sixth graders learn about mass production and inventions
2005

Mills Lawn sixth graders visited the Dole packaging plant in Springfield, Ohio as part of their study of inventions. The facility, which packages pre-cut salads, vegetables, and fresh fruit, gave the students first-hand experience with mass production techniques, automation, and invention.

Students received a briefing and tour of the facility from Dole employees, as well as ball caps, fresh fruit, and more.
