E-Pals
Sixth graders from Yellow Springs and Mesa, Arizona
2003

Students in Mr. Nowak's class have been in touch with students in Michelle Aron's sixth grade class at Lindbergh Elementary School in Mesa, Arizona. Our e-pal relationship began when the teachers began communicating about curriculum, sixth grade projects, and their respective school web sites.

Since then, the Mills Lawn students have reviewed the Lindbergh students' online Egyptian Projects, while the sixth graders in Mesa reviewed our students' International Projects.

Both groups of students expressed an interest in being e-pals with each other. Through almost daily e-mails the students discovered that although they are separated by several thousand miles and a three-hour time difference, they have a lot in common. As one Mills Lawn sixth grader said after receiving his first e-mail from his Mesa e-pal, "This is so cool! He and I like all the same stuff!"
