The students had to use excellent communication skills to get their partners to create an exact replica of their design.  The inspiration for this activity came from watching a short segment of Apollo 13 where the engineers on the ground created a device to fit a square filter into a round hole.  They had to communicate up to the astronauts exactly how to do recreate it.

     

   
Using the information they gathered about planes to make graphs using Excel.


Exploring with Bernoulli's Principle. Air moving over a curved wing moves faster than the air moving under the flat side of the wing.  This is the basis for Bernoulli's Principle, and it is what causes the lift of an airplane.  These activities explored that concept.
