Social Studies

Fifth grade is a year long study of America’s history.  We’ll be examining Native American cultures and learning about early explorers.  We’ll also study colonization, expansion, and the American Revolution.  Included in this study are geography and research skills, concepts of government, and economics.

States Project

The first project of the year will be in social studies.  Each student will select a state to research.  As part of their project they will use:  Microsoft Word to write letters to their state, Microsoft Publisher to construct a travel brochure, and Microsoft Excel to create informational graphs.
