Glen Helen Project
Studying changes in our local nature preserve

" Glen Helen is a 1000-acre nature preserve and environmental education facility in Yellow Springs which is safeguarded as a place for the observation, study, and enjoyment of natural ecological processes.

"Adjacent to the campus of Antioch College, nearly all the land was given to the College by alumnus Hugh Taylor Birch in 1929 as a living memorial to his daughter, Helen Birch Bartlett."

Mills Lawn's involvement with Glen Helen includes a year-long study by students of seasonal changes occurring in the nature preserve. Students will study changes in plant and animal life and will record and photograph their observations.

Look for our students' continuing work during 2001 and 2002 on these pages.
