Japan Celebration!
Kindergartners conclude their study of Japan

The Kindergarten concluded its study of Japan with a big Japanese celebration.  The children played Japan Bingo (with words like kimono, obi, island, and  Koi), made water color paintings, explored an ocean science kit, did some fish stamping, and sang Karaoke.

Students had a feast of egg rolls with sweet and sour sauce, rice cakes, rice candy, mandarin oranges and “Twinkie Sushi.”  (That is slices of Twinkie wrapped in green fruit roll-ups sprinkled with mini- M&Ms.)

Students used the rice bowls they made in art class to eat sticky rice WITH CHOPSTICKS!

Toss in a paper umbrella and it was a feast fit for an emperor or empress!
