Joan
Damankos is a sculptor who uses her art to explore her wide range of
interests. She enjoys working with mixed media and wall-hung constructions
that chronicle events, passages of time and "moments of personal truth." Some
of her pieces exist for a few hours to several months and then live in the
memory of the viewers. Direct personal involvement and experience with her
work is important to her. Joan has major installations at the Erie Art Museum in Pennsylvania and the Cleveland Museum of Art. Joan's residency at Mills Lawn is with third and fourth graders.
