Fourth graders visited the
Johnston
Farm in Piqua (Ohio) as part of their study of Ohio History. The farm
appears much as it did in 1829. Costumed interpreters helped the students
understand early Ohio farm life and the challenges faced by settlers and
Native Americans early in the 19th Century. The students also rode on the
General Harrison (below), a replica canal boat that offers tours along a
restored mile-long section of the Miami and Erie Canal.
