In
each second grade class the students researched and built a model of one
of twenty or so national landmarks. Most of these U.S. landmarks either
honor an American leader or group of people who have contributed to the
history of our country. In addition to creating the landmark models, the
second graders wrote reports based on their research and gave
presentations featuring their models and research to their classes. They
also had the opportunity to share their projects with students in other
grades. See some examples of
