"Children love to dance. In the living room and in the grocery store, any time is the right time. Dancing gives expression to our innermost feelings and makes us aware of the people around us. When I work with students I show them what it's like to be a dancer from start to finish: training, improvising, crafting and presenting. Through the process, students celebrate the physical and expressive power of their bodies, a celebration that I hope will continue long after the residency concludes." Margot Greenlee's residency at Mills Lawn is with kindergarten and first and second graders. |
