The Mills Yard Bistro
Fifth and sixth graders do lunch and learn in the process

Fifth and sixth graders in Mr. Zappin's math class run The Mills Yard Bistro on Fridays. Students prepare and sell a variety of soups, sandwiches, and salads to the Mills Lawn staff. The students use and apply math skills as they figure costs, profits, weigh portions, total orders, and make change. They are also applying writing skills, learning about cooperation, and  proper food preparation skills.

The Bistro has become very popular with the staff, and the students are having fun with this project.

Profits from The Bistro will be used for class projects.
