Trip

minerals, and fossils

Third
graders traveled to the Narrows
Reserve
(Beavercreek, Ohio) as part of their unit of
study about rocks, minerals,
and fossils. Students had a lot of fun
learning about minerals, rocks, and fossils. They made molds of fossils,
went on a fossil hunt in the creek, played a rock game and explored the
woods for different types of rocks. Before the trip students observed
rocks they brought in from home, kept a rock journal, and explored the
different properties of rocks.
