As part of the Ancient Egypt Project , each sixth grader creates a personal sarcophagus. Construction involves various stages, including research, brainstorming, sketching, painting (see video), and finally stuffing. Students work on their sarcophaguses during art classes, at other times during the day, and even, in many cases, after school. The results are something students can be proud of for years to come. Many former students tell us they still have their sarcophagus at home! Below are photos from various stages of construction.
