Kindergartners celebrate St. Nicholas Day in early December. 

Cokie, their beloved volunteer from the Netherlands, took them through the Dutch tradition of putting your shoe by the fireplace (students used the hallway) with a carrot for St. Nick's horse. 

On December 6th, when children wake up, they find a treat in their shoe.
