YSKP Production, March 6-9, 2008

Toys came to life on the Mills Lawn School stage as thirty-nine 3rd-6th graders, directed by Mary Kay Clark, performed "The Velveteen Rabbit." The Yellow Springs Kids' Playhouse production brought dramatic appeal to a nursery, a meadow inhabited by critters and fairies, and a humble, stuffed rabbit who longs to become real through the love of a boy.

YSKP Company Manager and Education Coordinator, Lisa Hunt, worked with director Mary Kay Clark, and community artist and teacher, Amanda Turner, to bring complimentary lessons to Mills Lawn students using the Velveteen Rabbit story and play as source material, incorporating selected Ohio Fine Arts Theatre Standards.
